Minecraft, the sandbox building game developed by Mojang, now has its very own version for Android. Previously exclusive only to the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play, the Minecraft Pocket Edition is now available on all devices running the Google mobile OS. While the Xperia Play version was specially designed to take full advantage of the phone’s hardware and give users a similar feeling to playing the game on PC, the newest Minecraft Pocket edition has intuitive touch screen controls.
The only problem with the Minecraft Pocket Edition is its lack of functionality as compared to the PC version. Players are only allowed to build stuff, which means there are no tools, no crafting and the game doesn’t even have any enemies or animals (I know you want to kill the wolf so badly!). Apart from that there are no modes in this latest edition (Multiplayer, Survival), so the game might sound a bit boring but the portability is what you should be happy for.
The price tag is $6.71. A demo version of the game is also out on the android app market, so I will recommend you to play the demo version before buying the original as there have been complaints about the hardware compatibility of the game.
